There are a lot of group workouts in Vancouver that are absolute shit. Pretty much every outdoor boot camp program currently running in Vancouver is absolute shit. The franchised boot camps are a particularly pungent brand of feces. Just about every group fitness class run at any of the big box gyms is complete shit. Even the smaller boutique gyms in Vancouver are known to offer extremely bad workouts. I’m actually not aware of one group workout program anywhere in downtown Vancouver that’s even marginally decent, and the vast majority of group workouts downtown are godawful (including the four CrossFit gyms in downtown Vancouver).
So you could try hundreds of group fitness classes in Vancouver and not find one quality group workout, but I’m here to help and get you pointed in the right direction by telling you about a killer group workout in Vancouver that has an absolutely legendary reputation among personal trainers. This workout kicks so much ass that a large percentage of the people participating in most workouts are the best and most sought after personal trainers in Vancouver.
The workout is the Sunday circuit run by Mike Veinot and his team at Rep1 Fitness. The good news is that the workout is fucking unbelievably awesome. The bad news is that it’s only once per week (Sunday at 10AM), but one day a week for the best workout of your life is better than zero days per week. My suggestion is to do the Rep1 circuit every Sunday morning, and then find a couple of other workouts or activities you can add to your routine during the week so that you end up working out, or doing a fun sport or activity that qualifies as working out, at least 3-day per week.
