If you’re interested in buying a suspension system, my strong recommendation is that you choose the TRX Suspension Trainer because it’s by far the best suspension system on the market in every category worth considering. Those categories include build quality, ease of use, versatility, portability, design, programming, and support. But at $200, the TRX is one of the more expensive suspension systems on the market, so if your priority is to spend as little as possible on your suspension system, the TRX might not be for you. But the GoFit Gravity Straps are a very decent product for anyone looking for a budget suspension system.

It’s difficult to compare the TRX Suspension Trainer to the GoFit Gravity Straps because the two products are at complete opposite ends of the suspension system spectrum. The TRX is the market leader and considered the highest quality and most versatile suspension system you can buy. It’s also one of the most expensive. At the other end of the spectrum is the GoFit Gravity Straps, which are nowhere near as high quality as the TRX, nowhere near as versatile, and less than a quarter of the price of the TRX (GoFit Gravity Straps currently sell for $40).

So although I strongly prefer the TRX Suspension Trainer over the GoFit Gravity Straps, depending on what features you’re looking for in a suspension system, how often and where you plan to use it, and how much you’re willing to spend on a product like this, you might be better off choosing the GoFit Gravity Straps. What follows is a list of the features that you’ll get if you spend $200 on the TRX Suspension Trainer, and the concessions that you’ll need to make in order to save $160 by choosing the GoFit Gravity Straps instead.

Build Quality · The TRX Suspension Trainer is the highest quality suspension system on the market. Every aspect of the TRX is impeccably made. The GoFit Gravity Straps are decent quality, but nowhere near as nice as the TRX.

Ease Of Use · The TRX Suspension Trainer is the easiest suspension system on the market to setup and adjust. Lengthening and shortening the straps is a breeze. The GoFit Gravity Straps are fairly simple to adjust, but nowhere near as easy to adjust as the TRX.

Versatility · The TRX Suspension Trainer is the most versatile suspension system on the market, and can be setup pretty much anywhere (doors, beams, posts, trees, etc). The GoFit Gravity Straps can only be setup on a door.

Portability · The TRX is the most portable suspension system on the market, and can easily be packed up and taken anywhere that you want to workout. The GoFit Gravity Straps are portable, but definitely more awkward and unwieldily to pack and unpack compared to the TRX.

Equalizer Loop · The TRX Suspension Trainer features a patented equalizer loop that makes exercises more challenging and effective by preventing you from cheating with your dominant side. The GoFit Gravity Straps do not offer this feature.

Foot Cradles · The TRX Suspension Trainer features patented foot cradles that are integrated right into the handles, making it extremely simple to switch between various exercises. The GoFit Gravity Straps have separate handles and foot cradles that are a pain in the ass to switch between.

Programming · The TRX Suspension Trainer includes a high-quality workout DVD, plus you can access a lot more high-quality programming on the TRX website. The DVD that comes with the Gravity Straps is complete shit, and GoFit doesn’t offer any other programming online.

Support · The support offered by TRX is very high quality and you’ll receive a prompt and helpful response to any question you contact them about. The support offered by GoFit is absolute shit, and if you contact them, the response will likely be slow (if they respond at all), and entirely unhelpful.

Summary · The TRX Suspension Trainer is the best suspension system on the market. It currently costs $200 and offers you the highest quality suspension system in every category. But if you’re choosing your suspension straps on price rather than features, and you’re willing to sacrifice build quality, ease of use, versatility, portability, design, programming, and support, in order to save $160, then you will be perfectly happy with the GoFit Gravity Straps.
