What is unique about the workouts?

Mode Athletics workouts are movement-based home exercise routines that focus on functional training that has a real purpose and carry-over to the physical requirements of day to day life. By taking all of the best functional exercises and arranging them into challenging interval-based metabolic circuits that are a lot of fun and without question the most time-efficient way to exercise, Mode Athletics home workouts deliver significantly faster and better results with shorter and fewer weekly workouts.

What equipment do I need?

Mode Athletics workouts use resistance bands. That’s it. No health club membership, or expensive home gym monstrosities required. The equipment needed to perform our workouts can be purchased relatively inexpensively (under $100), can be used at home or anywhere else you feel like exercising, and it can be conveniently stored out of the way when not being used.

Can I use resistance tubing?

Ideally, you should use 41″ continuously looped resistance bands for Mode Athletics workouts. Many of the pushing and pulling exercises performed in our workouts can be done using resistance tubing, but there are also lots of exercises that are either awkward, or impossible to perform using tubing. A complete set of resistance bands are relatively inexpensive and will last years, so we recommend that you invest in a set of bands to ensure that you get the most out of our workouts.

Which resistance bands do you recommend?

I recommend Rubberbanditz resistance bands because they are extremely high quality, and very competitively priced. At a bare minimum, you should pick up one of each of the following bands: light, medium, heavy, and robust. Together, those four bands offer up to 180 lb of tension, which should be enough for most people just getting started. If you require more resistance, adding a power band, and strong band will increase your total resistance to up to 450 lb, which should be enough for anyone of any size and fitness level. You should also pick up a pair of handles, and a door anchor.

What format do the workouts follow?

All Mode Athletics workouts are metabolic resistance training routines, meaning that the workouts involve performing a variety of functional total-body movements with inadequate rest between exercises, resulting in challenging resistance training routines that also work your cardiovascular system more effectively than traditional long boring cardio. Each individual workout routine is based on one of the following formats: circuit, superset, challenge, and tabata.

How long are the workouts?

Mode Athletics workouts range from 15 to 30 minutes in length.
